Busch Wild Life Park

Hannah & Collin | Engaged

Who doesn't love evening light, especially fall afternoon/evening light? Hannah and Collin's photos were taken at Busch Wildlife Park.  I love the glow of the golden light peeking through the tree branches.  It also helps when you have two subjects that are super sweet and in love.  Scroll down and learn a little about their love story.

How did the two of you meet?

Although we both attended the same high school, we met at a local hospital.

How did he pop the question?

On the beach in Gulf Shores, AL during sunset, with our great friends Mike & Megan.  It was definitely a surprise (as we had literally just talked weeks before about waiting to get engaged until we both graduated college). It was perfect!

How long have you two been together?

We are coming up on 8 years together as of January 24th, 2016.

What are you and your fiancé’s hobbies?

Hannah: Collin really enjoys watching sports (mainly hockey & football) as well as playing sports (mainly soccer). He also enjoys working out & playing with our dog, Bocephus.

Collin: Hannah enjoys ‘watching’ sports with me as well as hanging out with Bocephus, and she enjoys doing crafts and exercising on the treadmill.

What do you guys do in your free time?

In our free time, we like to sit at home with our fur-baby, clean (LOL, yes we do this a lot), get together with friends, and go out to eat & enjoy watching sporting events.

What made you fall in love with him/her?

Hannah: What is there to not love about Collin?! His ability to make me laugh from day one was enough to capture my heart.

Collin: Hannah’s attractiveness caught my attention and her inner beauty captured my heart. Her easy-going attitude and willingness to please others before herself is second to none. She also has a love for dogs and this trait took our love to another level with the four-legged addition to our family.

What qualities do you love about your fiancé?

Hannah: There are so many! His drive for success in life is like no one I have met before, and it is contagious which I love. He pushes me to achieve things I often think I cannot do. His confidence. His love for myself, our dog Bo, & everyone around him. His personality; he can make just about anyone laugh. His smile. I love it all!

Collin: Hannah has a special ability to make someone feel so special. She cares so much about other people’s feelings and goes out of her way to make others happy. Also, she is very supportive of anything I do and helps keep me bounded when I needed it.

Interesting facts about you and your fiancé?

We feel the way met was interesting…having grown up in the same area and attended the same high school & not “crossed paths” until at a hospital is some amazing work of God, but we know He brought us together for a reason.

We’ve both switched our majors in college (quite a few times).

We are very plan-oriented…we text each other daily with reminders and to-do lists.

We rescued our dog, Bocephus when he was just six weeks in a parking lot of a townhouse complex where Collin lived for one year.

What are you most anxious, nervous or fearful about your BIG day?

It all “flowing”. I hope and pray that the entire day flows smoothly and everything falls into place. Collin doesn’t seem too worried, he’s confident in it all.

What's one piece of advice you would give to other couples during their wedding planning?

Allow yourselves plenty of time and HAVE FUN. The two of us have given ourselves over a year (almost two) to plan for our special day. Although it seems like a long time, we have been able to really enjoy planning and focus on every detail of our special day. It is such a blessing that Collin is just as excited in the details as I am and I advise both people to put in equal efforts. This is a big day! Also, take advice from others but learn to let some of it go. I have gotten some great advice from family and friends that have been extremely helpful, but we have learned to ignore some opinions as they just aren’t our style.
