This is more of a personal blog that I want to share with you guys, a glimpse at my personal life when I’m not working as a photographer encapsulating memories for my friends and clients. For those of you who follow me on my personal Facebook Page it is guaranteed that you will find copious amounts of photos of my son. He is likely the sunlight of my husband and I’s day and we never really knew what unconditional love is like until we became parents to this sweet boy.
This past weekend we celebrated his 3rd birthday, yes 3rd BIRTHDAY! My husband and I can’t believe it either, where did the past 3 years go? Now we know what every parent feel when their child turn another year older. A feeling of nostalgia suddenly crept over me after looking through the photos from his party and immediately pulled at the emotional waterworks strings for me (I mean, how is he three years old already, didn't we just get home from the hospital?). It could possibly be that it’s the hormones to blame since I am 20 weeks pregnant after all. But on May 17, 2012 at 11:40 am Ethan Robert came into our lives and forever made it better!
We celebrated Ethan’s (or E-man as our family likes to call him) birthday over a casual “burgers and hotdogs” gathering at our nearest local park. The day called for some rain and possible thunder, but we were lucky to have a little bit of everything (but nothing too crazy) enough for us to really enjoy and celebrate E-man’s birthday party.
I would like to give a shout to a couple of the vendors we used for his birthday party. When I asked E- man what he wanted for his birthday he said he wanted a cheesecake for his birthday cake and Jake and the Neverland Pirates so kudos to Laulie Cakes for being so accommodating and creating a beautiful and delicious Jake and the Neverland Pirates themed cake. They worked with our budget and crazy request of cream cheese filled chocolate cake on top and wedding cake flavor for the bottom. I added the figurines myself which was purchased from Toys R Us. This cake was delicious and wowed both the parents and kids! I also want to give kudos to Premier Entertainment for our talented balloon artist. Since I am not the most creative and talented when it comes to making things I let Premier Entertainment take care of both the party favors AND one hour of balloon making entertainment for the kids. It was the perfect no assembly, no mess, no worries party favors and entertainment for the kids!
Of course, special thanks go to the parents who attended E-man’s party. Thank you for bringing your babies and braving out the rainy weather. Ethan really enjoyed having his friends there and we are so grateful that you all could make it. Thankfully it only rained for a bit which created puddles of water for the kids to jump and splash in! I think the kids had a great time and most importantly the birthday boy truly enjoyed his birthday celebration.
Happy Birthday Ethan!
Rain or shine, the party must go on! Thankful for my husband's helpers!
